Assignment 2 — 35 marks


In this assignment, you will create the two more web pages for your web site continuing the same theme you began with your first assignment. Save these files on your local computer in a subfolder using the instructions in this assignment for the content of each page. Follow the instructions at the bottom of this page to upload your assignment files to a web account for grading.

In this second assignment, you will add in colour settings, background colours or images. All of these will be added using CSS (cascading style sheet) settings to provide these features. You will create a CSS file and link it to all HTML files, including your HTML files from assignment 1. The text covers linking CSS files on pages 191-192.

  1. General instructions for HTML files:    [4 marks 2 marks per file]

  2. Create an HTML file using a file name of your choice. This web page will contain several photos or images that relate to the theme of your web project.    [8 marks total]

  3. Create an HTML file using a file name of your choice. This web page will contain some sort of schedule or timetable data presentation. Relate this to your theme/topic. Present this information inside an HTML table. Incorporate the following HTML table features:   [8 marks total]

  4. Cascading Style Sheets: Create a CSS file with a proper CSS file name (eg. myfile.css). This file needs to incorporate the following "style" items for all of the HTML files included in both assignments. Once you have prepared the file, link it into every HTML file so that the style rules will be applied all HTML files. Note: You may not use default web browser colours for the colour settings on your pages (for example, text cannot be black, page backgrounds cannot be white, links cannot be blue, etc).    [10 marks total]
